Cost Based Estimating

Many landscape companies do not use a cost-based estimating system. There are a number of different pricing systems that include a material multiplier, fair market price, unit pricing and the guesstimate. It is critical to understand your direct costs, how much overhead to recover and how much profit your company needs to succeed.

Marcus’s experience includes: President of a $7 million high-end residential landscape construction company, and special projects manager for a diverse $23 million landscape construction company.  Marcus has been a speaker for many national and state trade associations.  He is past president of the New Jersey Nursery and Landscape Association, and is a member of the Horticultural Standards Committee.
