NJNLA COVID-19 Resource Page
Be well. Be prepared. We're here to help.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC),
it is important to create an infectious disease outbreak response plan.
All New Jersey employers must implement strategies to address public health and social distancing that protect their employees and customers from COVID-19 while making
sure their businesses continue to operate. Communication to your employees and customers on the steps being taken is required. Doing so will reassure your employees, customers and clients.
Protecting & Advocating For Your Business
The New Jersey Nursery & Landscape Association (NJNLA) is coordinating with state & national agencies to advocate for your business. If further restrictions are applied that define non essential vs essential, it is our goal to ensure the green industry is deemed essential, and for
individual businesses to be able to exercise the option to remain open and support their communities during these challenging times.
The NJNLA continues to monitor the situation and guidelines coming from the state of New Jersey and will continue to keep you informed. Find helpful links on this special COVID-19 page, which will be updated regularly.
At a time filled with stress and unknown, our industry is uniquely poised to offer plants, products and services that deliver positive benefits to physical and mental health. We've been advocating that "gardening is not cancelled" and have promoted the health benefits (both physical and emotional) that plants and gardening offer. It provides abundant learning activities for students, and ideas for adults to get out of the house and into the yard, patio or balcony while keeping safe and practicing social distancing.
Growers, garden centers and landscape professionals are adapting policies and procedures to keep employees and customers safe and healthy. Garden centers are transitioning business models to online or call in orders with curbside and delivery services. Many are sharing the messaging around the mental and physical health benefits of gardening, plants, trees and engaging with nature. Continuing to share this message is something we ALL can do to support our industry!
To support idea sharing, please post on the NJNLA Facebook Page
about what your businesses is doing. We are also updating the PlantSomethingNJ.org
website to include a list of retail garden centers that are remaining open with a list of services they provide to allow customers to safely visit.
Please share your experiences and business needs with NJNLA, so we know how to best support you. #weareallinthistogether
